Product Information
A true copy of a very rare special Viennese trumpet in low F, as played in Orchestras in Vienna during the 19th century and beyond. It has the same type of double piston setup as the Vienna horn, which allows the air to pass through directly in a straight line which makes for exquisit legatos. Trumpets in F were also made with rotary valves but they are equally rare nowadays. Despite of the fact that many scores from Schubert to Johann Strauß and Mahler call for such instruments, they are not in use anymore today and this is a great pitty. They achieve an elegance in sound with brilliance all the way up to top c and a rich and warm low registre not possible on the commonly used B--flat trumpet. The special mouthpiece with its interchangable rim gives you the opportunity to select the most comfortable rim and to find the perfect setup for all situations.
