935 Silver has an even higher silver content than Sterling silver with a strong and pleasant tonal quality. The front edge of the embouchure hole has a predominant influence on sound quality and response of the flute and for this reason the special characteristics of the material used for the edge on which the air column splits and actually produces the sound have a far greater effect then further down along the tube. To maximise the benefit of it's qualities, the front edge of the riser has been made from 14ct gold and made higher and soldered into the lip plate on the same level, forming a solid 14ct gold Edge for the sound waves to break on. This gives head joint an outstanding response and a brilliant and beautiful sound.
